Back Roads

I’ve always been a bit of a leadfoot when it comes to relationships. Once I’ve figured out that I like and trust and want someone, I’m not inclined to dawdle on the road to love.

It’s a little strange to find myself on a little country road, trying to resist the urge to push the pedal down and make some miles. Going slow is different, but the scenery sure is nice and since I don’t know how far this road will take me, I might as well not hurry to the end. The journey is the important part, right?

(Ach, darn, there I go with the metaphors again! At least they aren’t all mixed up this time).
